The Phlebotomy Technician Program provides instruction and preparation for an entry-level healthcare career. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a HS diploma or equivalency. Students will learn how to draw blood properly from patients, the order of draw, and other laboratory skills and techniques.
Clinical externship is part of the phlebotomy technician program and students must successfully complete 100 hours and 100 patient sticks in order to pass the program. Typically, clinical will take place during the daytime hours, so students need to make arrangements in the beginning of the course with their personal schedule to accommodate clinical time.
Students are expected to utilize the Canvas Online Learning Management System, as well as meet one night a week with the instructor.
Students will sit for the ASCP certification exam at the completion of the course and clinical time.
Students must successfully pass a criminal background check and random urine drug screen.

There is no refund to the student unless CWD Allied Health cancels the program. If the student withdrawals prior to the start of the program, a fee of $250 will be charged.
