Continuing Education for Individuals
We offer classes to help you gain expertise in the field of Dental Assisting. Our Expanded Function Dental Assisting (EFDA) classes can help you advance, by learning new and specialized skills.
The Expanded Function courses utilize curriculum developed and licensed by the Missouri Dental Association. All Expanded Functions curriculum has been approved by the Missouri Dental Board. Ozarks Technical Community College is an approved course provider by the Missouri Dental Board.
Prerequisites for an EFDA Course
Missouri rule states that to be eligible to take Expanded Function courses, assistants must have proof of certification as a Certified Dental Assistant or a Certified Orthodontics Assistant from the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) or proof of passing the Missouri Test of Basic Dental Assisting Skills (MDBA). Successful completion of the CDA exam leads to a national certification that is highly valued by both employers and patients. The DANB website includes everything you need to know about this certification.
