The healthcare industry continues to offer growth and career opportunities. The pharmacy technician program prepares an individual for an entry-level position in a retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or long-term care pharmacy setting. This 16-week program will teach students how to assist pharmacists properly in mixing and safely dispensing prescription medication. One attempt at the certification exam is included.

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN PROGRAM
Course Title: WDH-097
Course Length: One evening a week, face-to-face, PLUS a minimum of 10 hours a week commitment through the online learning system, Canvas.
Class Dates: August 22, 2022 – December 12, 2022
Class Meets: Mondays from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm (off holidays or when the campus is closed)
Location: Springfield Campus, Lincoln Hall
Requirements: Clinical requirements are 60 hours total. Thirty (30) hours are in a retail pharmacy setting, and 30 hours are in an inpatient hospital pharmacy setting. Clinical time is during the weekday hours (Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm) and will be scheduled halfway through the program. The clinical component is a required part of the program.
