SUMMER MANUFACTURING PROGRAM

Local demand for manufacturing workers is at an all-time high, and jobs need to be filled immediately. OTC is responding by providing a no-cost, paid training course to anyone over 18 – no experience required. This 2-week hands-on course is designed to help you get started in the booming manufacturing industry right away. Gain the valuable trade skills that are in high demand by our local manufacturing industry, and be job-ready by course completion.

Course Title: WDT 246
Location: ITTC 100
Course Length: 80 hours/2 weeks

Session One Schedule (8-hour daily commitment over 5 days):

Dates: June 14 – 25, 2021
Class Meets: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
30-minute lunch, two 15-min breaks

Session Two Schedule (11-hour daily commitment over 4 days): 

Dates: June 28 – July 9, 2021
Class Meets:
Week 1: Monday – Thursday, 7:00am – 6:00pm
Week 2: Tuesday – Friday, 7:00am – 6:00pm
30-minute lunch, two 15-min breaks

Requirements: Must be 18 or older, no experience necessary
Cost: $0 after applied financial grants

What You'll Learn

This program introduces basic concepts in the areas of:

  • Safety in a manufacturing environment
  • Introduction to manufacturing, including product life cycle, materials, assembly, and processes
  • Blueprint reading basics
  • Inspection, including basic measurements and tolerances
  • Quality, including 5S, and lean
  • Introduction to mechatronics (CNC, additive manufacturing, robotics)
  • Troubleshooting
  • Math fundamentals

What You'll Earn
